Fang-tastic Sneek Peak

This Holiday Mini is filled with so much goodness I wish I had more money.  Wowsers.

I don't normally do Halloween themed cards but with this darn cute set I just had to step out of my comfort zone and create a card with it.  Tomorrow is the big release so keep your eyes peeled for it.

My card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 using Old Olive cardstock.  I sponged ink around the edges to make it stand out a bit more.  I used a strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and tore one of the edges and then stamped some bats up it.

My image is stamped with black Staz On ink onto Watercolour paper.  I let this sit for a few minutes to ensure the ink was dry before I used my markers and aquapainter to colour in the image.

Once this dried up I layered on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and popped up on my cardfront using dimensionals.

In Old Olive Ink I stamped the broom and my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked this cute new set.

French Foliage Sneek Peak

We are one day away from the Holiday Mini's release so today I am sharing a sneek peak with you.

This card was made using the new French Foliage set.  The layout of the card was created using an old Mojo Monday sketch.

The base of the card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" from Garden Green cardstock.  I added a layer of More Mustard over this.

My images are stamped on Whisper White cardstock with More Mustard and Cajun Craze ink.  The 'banner' was created using Cajun Craze cardstock and I trimmed the ends with scissors.  I stamped some images in More Mustard ink onto More Mustard cardstock and trimmed into 3 smaller pieces which I laid side by side on the card front.

Finally I stamped another image from the set in Garden Green ink onto Whisper White, stamped over this with More Mustard and punched out using the 1 3/4" circle punch.  With a sponge I lightly added some colour to the edges.  I then punched out a Garden Green scrap using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch and layered my circle over this.  The scallops were a little plain so I pierced holes into each scallop.  I attached dimensionals (pop up's) to the back and adhered to my card front.

I hope this whets your appetite to see more from the fantastic Holiday Mini.

Thanks for stopping by.
Margaret

Exciting News....

Exciting news to share but first an update.  As I mentioned Madden is back home with us.  He system is still fighting hard to return to normal but he has already been showing us his playful side and to me, that is a good sign.  I sure got a lot of exercise over the weekend but it was nice to be out with him.

Sooooo, the exciting news......

If you sign up to become a demonstrator between Sept 1 - Oct 18 you get this piece of sweetness FREE!

I LOVE this tote.  I already purchased mine at $49.95 CDN and have used it already for taking supplies to work with me (gotta love that 1 hour lunch break)  but who wouldn't want this FREE.  It is specifically for demonstrators and co-ordinates with the Greenhouse Gala designer paper.

The great features of this tote are:

•This tote fits 12″ x 12″ products as well as 12″ x 12″ Craft Keepers, and it even holds your Paper Trimmer!
•A back-zipper pocket holds seven Classic Stampin’ Pads.
•Outside pockets hold our Extra-Large punches.

•A detachable shoulder strap makes it easy to carry your tote.
•Value is $39.95
•Perfect for carrying your crafting supplies to crops, classes, hostess events or just organizing your crafting space.

Now how cool is that.  If you live in Canada and you've been thinking of joining Stampin' Up! as an Independent Demonstrator - NOW is the time.  These totes are only available while supplies last.

Contact me and I'll help you get organized and on your way.

Cheers,
Margaret

Wedding

So we have had quite a good weekend.  We were allowed to take Madden home on Saturday.  He had an intestinal infection / virus so he is still on medication and special food but at least he is home with us.  He is a lot happier already and shows us his quirkiness.

I spent an hour in the stamp room Friday night to make two cards quickly for our neighbours.  Our neighbours son was married on Saturday so we needed to make a card for the bride and groom and of course for the parents (our neighbours)

The card I am sharing today was the card I made for the bride and groom.

The base is 6" x 6" textured Whisper White cardstock.

The top layer of the card is also textured White which I ran through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and layered over Basic Black cardstock.  I wrapped beautiful 5/8" White organza ribbon around the card and tied into a bow.  I added a few adhesive backed pearls to the centre of the embossed flowers.

The last step was running the Lots of Tags sizzlit die through the Big Shot with black cardstock, stamping my sentiment in Black ink on White cardstock, punching this out using the wide oval punch and layering together.

Thanks for stopping by.

Circle Circus Thanks

Wow another week has passed by so quickly.  I swear I have lots of cards to post and really I should take an hour and just post a whole weeks worth but time seems so skinny.

My boy Madden fell ill Sunday night/ Monday morning and by Tuesday we knew we needed to get him to the vet.  Needless to say he has been there all week already with an IV attached to give him fluids and antibiotics.  So far the lab results and blood tests haven't revealed anything but at least he started eating and drinking again yesterday and being able to hold it down.  Our boy boy looks so thin it breaks my heart.  It's incredible what just a few days can do to a puppy.  I just hope and pray the vet figures out what's wrong so we can get him better again.

Today I am sharing a quick and easy card with you that I CASE'd from Melanie Kiechle who is also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

The base of the card is Whisper White 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I used Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight ink to stamp my Circle Circus images on the card and the sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray using the Sincere Salutations set.

To finish it up, I punched a total of four 1/2" circles from Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray carstock and added to my cardfront.

It's so classy and yet so simple.

Thanks for stopping by.

Circle Circus Christmas

I have fallen in love with this stamp set.  When I see it in the catalogue I'm like, yeah it's just a circle image stamp set but let me tell you... this set is so perfect for so many occasions.

I recently taught a workshop where the focus was this set but we covered various 'happenings' with it.  Today's card is a Christmas/ holiday themed card using this set.

The card base is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Cherry Cobbler scored at 4 1/4" on the long side.  The Old Olive cardstock which is my first layer on my card base is 4" x 5 1/4".  I stamped images randomly along the top with Old Olive ink to create a patterned paper look.

Next I added a strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock 2 3/16" x 4".

Then I took a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock 2" x 4" and stamped my circle images in Cherry Cobler and Old Olive ink.  To make these into hanging ornaments, I drew in 'string' using a Chocolate Chip marker.

I wanted my ornaments to pop, so I stamped some more circles on some scrap bits of cardstock and punched them out with my 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches.  I added dimensionals to the back of these and popped them up on my 'ornaments'.

Finally I adhered my image piece of cardstock to my cardfront and stamped my sentiment in Old Olive ink with the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

Thanks for stopping by.

Giant Clothespin Picture Holder

There is something about an altered jumbo clothespin that I love.  I think because it can is such a fun and unique way to clip up pictures, cards or even a little note.

Here is my first altered jumbo clothespin.  I covered this with the new Newsprint Designer paper which I think is so fun.  I wrapped a strip of 5/8 Real Red Grosgrain ribbon around the bottom of the pin and tied it in a bow.

To finish it off, I added a Tangerine Tango button using Linen thread and tied it through the button holes and around the grosgrain ribbon to hold it in place.

Simple, cute, effective.

Thanks for stopping by.
