Bird on Branch

I figured that I have started posting the simple cards created for the Retired Products class from June that I may as well continue and get them all posted.

Today's card features the set Spring Song and the 'technique' I showed was colouring with markers to be able to stamp a multi-coloured image.

The card base is Ruby Red with the sentiment stamped with Ruby Red ink in the bottom right corner.

The bird was coloured with markers and stamped on Whisper White cardstock.  I then layered this on Mellow Moss cardstock and attached to my card front.

To add some excitement to the card, I wrapped 1/4" Mellow Moss Grosgrain ribbon around the card base twice and tied in a bow.

Thanks for looking.
Margaret :)

In Need of Masculine

Every so often I need to throw a masculine card into the mix just to remember that guys need some love and attention too.

I had a retiring products class back in June and today's card is one of the simple cards we created using retiring products.

The card base is Close to Cocoa and stamped randomly with images from the set Wanted.  I stamped my main image on Whisper White cardstock, distressed the edges with scissors and ink and layered on Really Rust cardstock.  I popped this up on my card base with dimensionals.

I stamped the word Wanted with Really Rust ink on the Twill Tape and adhered to the card front.

Although the card may not be particulary - woah (LOL) it gave me the opportunity to showcase several retiring products as well as distressing techniques.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Cake Shoppe

When I saw LeeAnn Greff's ice cream cone card I fell in love with the cute design.  I re-created this card but made a couple minor changes.

I stamped a cake image from Fast & Fun notes, colouring in with the current In-Colour markers.  For the ribbon I used 1/4" White Grosgrain and for my sentiment I pulled out Sincere Salutations.

This card is too adorable.  I have another card to share with you using the similar idea of a shop front and look forward to posting it soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hamilton Regionals swap

I've been a bit behind again in posting so I thought I best get moving and post a card to share with you.  Today's card is the swap I created for Hamilton Regionals.  I was skinny on supplies and didn't have time to order more in before the event so I had to come up with something in my stash.  Needless to say I have many packages of Natural Ivory cardstock so it was 'natural' for me to decide to use it.  I also knew I didn't have enough of one embellishment to do 50 cards so I decided to make a card without them.

My card base is Natural Ivory, with a layer of Basic Black cardstock.  I used my Scallop Trim border punch along one edge of the black.

My cardfront is again Natural Ivory and I ran this through the Big Shot using the new Elegant Lines embossing folder.  I added this to my cardbase.

I stamped my sentiment from the Level 3 hostess set Occasional Quotes in Basic Black ink and punched our the sentiment using the Wide Oval punch.

I love my sizzlit set called Lots of Tags and knew that the one tag would be a perfect matte to my oval.  I ran it through the Big Shot and cut out a Basic Black tag.  I added my oval sentiment to this and popped it up on my card front using dimensionals.  (The little white dots around the outside of the tag were made using the Smooch Moonlight - I didn't care for the look so I didn't add to my swaps)

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day.
