Alligator Purse

A few weekends ago I went to a large demonstrator meeting hosted by Laura Robinson in Burlington. I love going to these, as I always leave inspired and with lots of great new ideas. Okay, maybe not new for some but definitely new for me. LOL

This cute little purse card is an example of one of the great ideas I went home with. This was super fast and fun. First you cut out two Top Notes using the Top Note BigZ die with the Big Shot machine. One is cut out plain and simple but the card base is made by folding the cardstock and placing over the die just shy of it cutting out the one side. This way you have a large folded card cut out already.

Next you use your bone folder and make squigly lines all over the card as well as on the purse flap. Take the same colour ink as your cardstock and use it direct to paper. This will darken the cardstock and really make those lines pop out. Score and fold the purse flap and punch two small holes in the fold crease to put your ribbon through for your purse handle. Adhere to the inside back cover of the purse flap and then adhere the back flap to the back of the card base. Then we used a stamped sentiment that had been punched out using the oval scallop punch and attached it to the inside of the front purse flap. This leaves you with the inside of the main base to still fill out a message to the lucky recipient. The card was finished off with a little brad on the front flap looking like a cute little closure clasp.
Thanks for looking in today.
