Eiffel Tower

Hey all, I hope everyone had a good weekend.  We had some cooler days but overall it wasn't too shabby.

I'm sharing a card we made at my Occasions Card class in August.  Most of the cards were quite feminine in colour so I wanted to create a card with more natural tones.

I inked my Eiffel Tower image with Certainly Celery ink, touched it lightly along one side on the Chocolate Chip ink pad and then took my Pear Pizzaz marker and shaded in the grass a bit at the bottom of the tower.  I stamped this onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, distressed the edges with the Cutter Kit and sponged some Chocolate Chip ink lightly around the edges. I then layered my image onto a piece of Certainly Celery cardstock.

Next I ran a layer of Chocolate Chip cardstock through the Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder.  I wrapped some 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around the front, created a bow and attached to the flat ribbon.  I adhered this layer to my Very Vanilla 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card front.

I added pop dots to the back of my stamped image and added this to my card front.  The last step was creating my sentiment, which I stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock in Chocolate Chip ink using the Teeny Tiny wishes set and I punched it out using the Word Window punch. I added a bit of adhesive to the end and placed it in behind the stamped image.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
Margaret :)

  1. Love the effect you got with the ink on the Eiffel Tower. It looks great. Gonna have to try it someday.

  2. Love the embossing folder you used - and it totally goes along with the image. Very classy, but understated card. This would be perfect to have on hand for so many different occasions. And I love the technique you used on the Eiffel Tower...never would have thought of that myself! Now that you've filled me up with inspiration again, I just have to find some time to stamp!!
